Venus as a More Convenient Planet for Colonization than Mars

It sounds strange, but in my view, it is easier to create a permanent base for astronauts on Venus. Why is that? After all, everyone knows that it is completely fierce environment, with high temperatures and pressure at the surface.

So, how can this be done? Probably, it is necessary to create a settlement in the atmosphere. At a certain altitude on Venus, there is normal pressure equal to 1 Earth atmosphere and a temperature at which the station can operate (around 70 degrees Celsius). Engineering problems include sulfuric acid droplets and extracting oxygen from CO2 and hydrogen from H2SO4.

Travel time to Venus is much shorter, and launch windows are more frequent compared to Mars. Solar energy, due to Venus's proximity to the Sun, is more abundant.

Small balloons can support the atmospheric station in the clouds. By the way, the station may even use regular Earth's air for buoyancy in the Venusian atmosphere because air is lighter than Venus's CO2-rich atmosphere. And because the atmospheric pressure is almost the same as on Earth, leaks and insulation become less of a problem (at least with respect to pressure, because acidic droplets and the external thermal environment still need to be isolated from the internal compartments).
